File3D hydrodynamical simulations with ENZO
This movies shows the common envelope evolution between a 0.88 Msun red giant star and a 0.15 Msun companion with a 256^3 grid. We show density slices in the orbital plane and the perpendicular plane. Simulation carried out with the ENZO code. This correspond to model Enzo9 in Passy et al. (2012).

This movies shows the common envelope evolution between a 0.88 Msun red giant star and a 0.6 Msun companion. We show density slices in the orbital plane. Simulation carried out with the SNSPH code. This correspond to model SPH2 in Passy et al. (2012).
Image1D evolutionary track of a mass-losing giant star
The response of a 0.88 red giant star to mass loss rates ranging from 0.001 up to a few M⊙/yr. These tracks show in no case any significant radius increase. More importantly, it shows that the giant star evolves dynamically and that the evolution is not adiabatic. This plot correspond to Figure 4 in Passy, Herwig, and Paxton (2012).
